Friesenhof Cornelius in Dorum

Since we didn't want a starter, we were told by the host that we wouldn't get a main course. Then we paid for the overpriced drinks and preferred to leave this "experience gastronomy". Never again, thank you.

The food was tasty and plentiful (we had a fish platter for two). The ambience is probably unique, just like the boss, who took a few minutes of his time to chat and choose the menu. The only thing that can really be better is the option to pay in the restaurant (bar only!): There is only one ATM in the village where fees of EUR 4 are due. It works better today. Either way, we'll be back :-)

You just have to visit the Friesenhof Cornelius. It's set up with so much love and creativity. There is something new to discover in every corner. The food was delicious and the service left nothing to be desired. We had a super great, unforgettable evening. Many thanks.

Unique evening :) You have to visit this restaurant once if you are there. A little hint: you can't get away without a starter and dessert. It's not a cheap evening and you should bring some time with you. The visit is a full evening program. But it's worth it! The waiters and especially the boss are great with children and make sure that they too feel very comfortable and don't have to wait long for their food: D. It's all very tasty, you can't get enough. For this quality it is not expensive at all. It was the perfect end to our vacation!

We ended up at the Friesenhof by chance, but spent a wonderful, unforgettable evening there. The landlord is truly unique, as is the whole restaurant itself. The food was delicious, even the side dishes such as red cabbage and spinach were seldom or never served so delicious! If we come back to the area we will definitely come back.

Excellent gastronomy. Very nicely decorated. Seldom seen so many antiques. Attentive staff, friendly. Delicious. Unfortunately only cash payment. Still full marks.

A great experience! Admittedly long wait for food. But the lovingly furnished ambience, the warm staff and the boss, an absolute one-off, more than made up for it! Since someone has fulfilled a lifelong dream !! Highly recommended and we'd love to come back! 👍

The house, the garden and the furnishings are unique and compete with many local museums. The owner is also one of a kind in a way that has to be liked. Our visit was a test run, as from now on there will always be all dishes for € 13.50 on Wednesdays. The portions were generous and the food tasted good, so good value for money. The dessert classic Rote Grütze with vanilla sauce was also delicious. The drink prices are okay. For vegetarians / vegans it is rather difficult to find something. Attention, only cash payment is possible. All in all a nice evening.

We found the Friesenhof by chance and are thrilled. The food was very good. The rustic inn is absolutely worth a visit. The poem and the wisdom that the owner, Mr. Cornelius, recited, stimulate reflection. Greetings from Göttingen

Friesenhof Cornelius is something special! We enjoyed the time there! It is a very special atmosphere from a bygone era. Cozy sofas and playful decorations. The host is very special and entertains the guests with poetry and verse. The food is very good, highly recommended !. The dessert is a gift from the house and also a drink or two like the Friesengeist. Everything has its time and we enjoyed it !. To say goodbye there was a delicious dressing on the way. Thank you very much for this very nice holiday evening.

Often you say (woman) just to be polite "Oh, it was delicious ..." In the Friesenhof we lacked the words, because it was really so delicious that you (woman) cannot describe it. We can only say, go there and taste it yourself! PS: Don't forget to reserve in advance

If you want a real dining experience, this is the place for you. Take your time and enjoy a wonderful family atmosphere with incredibly delicious food. Simply great.

The Gaus alone is like a large doll's house that you immerse yourself in. Then comes the reception by the owner: individual and refreshing! A verbal exchange of blows is explicitly desired here! The boss also recites poetry, which loosens the whole atmosphere. And before I forget: the food is not only plentiful, it is very good! And this ambience, in which it can sometimes get hectic between the theater performance and the meal, is topped by two excellent service men who are always friendly and attentive. It's not just about eating, it's an overall experience. Certainly nothing for every day - but you should have done it once! We would love to come back!

An unforgettable evening with very good food in a cozy environment. The waiting time between starter and main course should definitely be used to explore the house. Both the crab soup and the salad with homemade dressing are recommended. The main courses are fresh and lovingly prepared. Another highlight was the Frisian poem presented by the landlord Claus Cornelius. We will keep the evening in good memory!

As always, it was an experience to eat there. Even the walk to the restaurant through this MAGIC garden is indescribably beautiful. The food is delicious and the whole ambience is chosen with a lot of love and heart. The host is the highlight of the evening, he speaks to each guest personally and then gives a speech for all guests in the cozy restaurant. His Frisian spirit verses cannot be surpassed. An absolute experience! The boss is absolutely unique with rough edges, but very friendly! Food absolutely great! The fish platter is amazing! Prices more than guaranteed! Ambience unique and incredibly beautiful! In addition, a great garden with adjoining deer enclosure. Highly recommended for people who enjoy eating!

It was very delicious and we had a lot of fun

Mega delicious & great view! 👍🏻 The two points are deducted because we had to wait a long time for our food and nobody knew anything about our reservation + 30min waiting for the bill.

Loud, talkative and quite invasive owner. It's OK, I guess, not up my alley though. What was not OK: - he overcharged for the sauce quite steeply and refused to honor the advertised price. Started making cheesy jokes about being cheap loudly and bringing up ridiculous excuses. - he put an additional item we didn't order into the bill. - Lastly, the receipt was handwritten on a piece of paper, just items and total. No tax info and other stuff required by law. Smells like tax evasion. Food was ok though. Not many alternatives in the area at the time.
